Razor's Edge

5 Beds | 6 baths | 5,458 Sq. Ft.

This timeless modern estate features a subtle grey palette, crisp off-white walls, and a warming beige interior color complemented by black accent hardware. Its design takes full advantage of the surrounding desert landscape, offering picturesque views from its floor-to-ceiling glass windows. The open floor plan seamlessly connects indoor and outdoor spaces, creating an entertainer's paradise. Architectural ceiling panels provide shade over welcoming seating areas, while the elevated pool adds a touch of magic to the landscape, keeping debris at bay for easy maintenance.

Known as Razor's Edge, this contemporary masterpiece replaced a blighted ranch home on a prime Paradise Valley, Arizona, lot. The design incorporates razor-like folding forms to frame views and shield occupants from the desert sun. The challenge was to position the house to capture views of four prominent mountain ranges, manage existing washes, and mitigate intense summer sunlight.

The 5,458-square-foot structure blurs the line between roof and walls. Light, wing-like plaster forms appear to float above the desert floor, while contrasting stone elements anchor the architecture to the site. The south wing hovers above the earth, allowing rain to pass through to the natural wash. Inside, the custom home offers four bedrooms and an impressive upper game loft with nearly 360-degree views. The interior design complements the architectural lines and exterior materials, maintaining proportion and scale. Clean lines and a restrained materials palette emphasize the home's contemporary aesthetic. Every room provides breathtaking views, enhancing the seamless indoor-outdoor living experience.
